Organizational Context

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office was established on December 14, 1950 by the General Assembly of the United Nations. The Agency is mandated to direct and coordinate actions to protect people in refugee status and solve refugee problems. Its main purpose is to safeguard the rights and welfare of refugees. UNHCR is almost entirely funded by voluntary contributions from governments and private donors. Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) Mexico is a priority market for PSP Americas, with the remit to increase awareness of UNHCR and raise funds from the private sector (individuals, corporates, foundations) in the country. The individual giving acquisition strategy has grown in the last years and it is expected to continue with this trend.

UNHCR Mexico projects significant revenue growth in the next years coming from the F2F channel; currently it is the main acquisition channel. The face to face in-house program started at the end of 2018, demonstrating that it is possible to create an in-house project and expand with more quality and better ROI than agencies. The face to face inhouse program is still in its early stages but it is expected to continue growing.

In this context, PSP Mexico is looking to recruit a person to maintain F2F teams motivated by combining professionalism, knowledge, energy, and skills. This motivation must occur in the field and in the office in different ways and methodologies. It is also necessary to know each of the members of the team in a personal level and identify their different motivations to be in the program. It is essential to create a special culture and “mystic” among the program to ensure retention, satisfaction and results.


The objective is to hire a person responsible for the Face to Face team’s motivation and effective work.
  • Motivate the face-to-face teams with activities, reflections, and dynamics through different channels.
  • Seek to keep the team happy and satisfied, driving results.
  • Seek to achieve a sense of belonging and permanence in the team.
  • Welcome new members through different platforms and channels.
  • Create different dynamics of integration, motivation and scope of objectives.
  • Find and organize from start point to finish a monthly integration activity for the team.
  • Manage, create and follow up on contest and gamification experiences.
  • Send constant motivation and informative messages through all channels.
  • In charge of supplier management and incentive purchases.
  • In charge of first aid kit.
  • Monitor UNHCR news.
  • Be up to date with UNHCR statistics and strategies in order to provide current information to the team.
  • Perform F2F skills induction sessions for new members and update information as needed.
  • Translate and summarize weekly Mexico update and share pertinent info.
  • Keep the balance between Field work supervision and office work.
  • Track incidences and absences.
  • Develop weekly trainings.
  • Develop weekly work schedule for field team.
  • Develop close relationship with team.
  • Learn new coaching techniques and implement them.
  • Inventory control of materials.
  • Assign materials according to the needs.
  • Develop liability letters for material used by the team.
  • Track proper use of collection tools.
  • Prepare reports, controls and analysis.
  • Attend fundraising activities or events, when needed.
  • Respond to incidents in minimum time.
  • Contribute actively to program’s development efforts.

Essential Minimum Qualifications and Experience

a. Education
  • Completion of Secondary education with post-secondary training/certificate in Human resources or any other related field.

b. Work Experience
  • At least four years on coaching experience or human resources
  • At least two year of Face to Face experience.
  • Knowledge of Ms Office, specifically: Word, Excel and Power Point.

Desirable Qualifications & Competencies

  • Desirable: Use of the customer relationship management database (Salesforce)
